Lynne Erickson
Lynne Erickson, BHEc
Lynne graduated with her Bachelor of Family Studies from the University of Manitoba. She has worked in the field of family services since 1988 in various capacities, and since 1996 with the Children's Special Services and the Supported Living program. In addition, she has developed and taught courses for adult programs in the Interlake Region of Manitoba.

Lynne took a two year leave of absence from her work with the Manitoba Government, and was the site coordinator for the "Bringing Nutritional Screening for Seniors" demonstration site sponsored by the Interlake Regional Health Authority during 2001 to 2003. During this period she also coordinated an initiative to encourage women to participate in the cervical screening initiative, and taught courses for Red River College in their Developmental Services Workers Certificate program.

Amie Gibbs-Ward
Amie Gibbs-Ward, RD, MSc
Amie has a BASc and MSc from the University of Guelph, with a dietetic internship at Saskatoon District Health. Amie is a Registered Dietitian working in Long-Term Care and Community Care in South-Western Ontario. She is a member of the Ontario College of Dietitian, Dietitians of Canada and the DC Gerontology and Homecare networks.

Through her graduate studies as well as volunteer and work experiences she has developed a specialty in Geriatric nutrition. She has worked with Professor Heather Keller at the University of Guelph doing research into the validation and application of SCREEN©, community based nutrition counselling for older adults, mealtimes in Long-Term Care Facilities and the prevention of weight loss for people with Dementia.

Dr. Heather H. Keller RD, PhD
Dr. Keller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition at the University of Guelph. She currently holds a New Investigator Award with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

Her research interests are focused on seniors living in the community. Specifically, Dr. Keller has developed SCREEN© (Seniors in the Community Risk Evaluation for Eating and Nutrition), a nutritional risk screening index designed for free-living seniors. She conducts research in the areas of nutritional risk, nutrition education of seniors, and dementia. She has published over 35 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has conducted numerous presentations.

Dr. Keller is currently on the editorial boards for: Journals of Gerontology(Medical Sciences), Journal of Nutrition for the Elderly, Journal of the American Medical Directors Association and the Canadian Journal of Dietetic Practice and Research.

Dr. Keller is a member of Dietitians of Canada, Canadian Association of Gerontology, Canadian Society for Nutritional Scientists, the American Dietetic Association and the Gerontological Society of America. She has received awards for teaching and guest lectureships for research in the area of aging.
